What are Shingles?
Shingles (Herpes Zoster) is a viral infection that causes a rash, blisters and pain on one side of the body. It is caused by the same virus that causes chicken pox, which may have affected you in your childhood. Pain can range from moderate to severe, and vary from tenderness of the skin to a burning, throbbing, shooting, or stabbing pain. As you get older, your risk for long-term nerve pain may increase.

Who can get affected?
